The family Law Offices of Susan Parnell Wilson was founded in 1991 to meet the legal needs of men and women seeking divorce or legal help with other Illinois family law matters, such as legal paternity, child custody, child support, or domestic abuse.

Family law and divorce attorneys Susan Parnell Wilson and Kelly L. Garrett are licensed to practice law in both Illinois and Missouri, although the firm primarily serves clients in Illinois in St. Clair County. In practice for more than 20 years, Ms. Wilson possesses significant academic credentials, maintains strong community ties, and is committed to providing clients with quality legal representation that demonstrates the highest ethical standards.  Ms. Garrett has three years experience in the family law area and is also accepting cases in Monroe County, Illinois.

While attorney Wilson is primarily a litigator, spending much of her time in court, she is also a licensed and experienced mediator and arbitrator. She has been mediating family-related issues since 1993 and has experienced a significant increase in her mediation practice since Illinois law changed in 2006 to require all child custody cases to be mediated.

As an Arbitrator for St. Clair County Arbitration programs, Ms. Wilson arbitrates several cases each year, acting as an arbitrator in personal injury and property damage cases.

Our Family Law Team

Our firm includes three full-time support staff, including paralegals with formal training and many years of experience in family law and personal injury cases. Our highly professional staff ensures that client cases are kept on track and that our clients receive the communication and attention they need.  We also accept cases related to personal injury, probate, wills and powers of attorney.

Although our staff is all female, we have a high concentration of male clients, many of whom are seeking custody or improved visitation with their children. We are vigorous defenders of our clients' rights in court.
